TOUCH OF LOVE
This is the community outreach and missions’ arm of Gates of Praise International Christian Centre, dedicated to extending the love of Jesus Christ to both our local community and international partners. We believe in showing God’s love in action — not just in words. Every initiative we undertake is rooted in compassion, care, and a commitment to serving others, especially the most vulnerable among us.
WEEKLY FOOD BANK
In partnership with Thurrock Food Bank, we run a weekly food distribution programme every Saturday, providing essential groceries and support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. This initiative not only meets an essential need but also fosters a greater sense of inclusion and dignity by providing a sense of community support for those facing economic and social challenges.
THE CULTURAL FOOD CARE PROJECT
Similar to our weekly food bank, the Cultural Food Care Project was established in recognition of the rich diversity within our community. This initiative specifically supports Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) residents who are legally living in the UK but do not yet hold full citizenship, by providing a week’s supply of culturally appropriate food parcels every Wednesday.
ELDERLY CARE
Our outreach also includes befriending services to support the elderly — ensuring that no one feels isolated or forgotten. These moments of connection go a long way in restoring dignity, joy, and a sense of belonging.
SUPPORTING BEYOND OUR BORDERS
In addition to our local work, we support several charities whose missions align with ours, helping us to extend love and practical help to communities around the world. These partners include:

SCHOOL HOLIDAY CLUBS
This is a seasonal fun holiday clubs for children during school breaks, creating a safe space for learning, creativity, and nourishment. This includes art and craft club, cooking activities and music academy.
NIGHT SHELTER FOR THE HOMELESS
In the past, we have provided a safe and warm environment for those experiencing homelessness during the cold months. This includes not only shelter, but also clothing, and emotional support.
WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
We are incredibly thankful for the committed volunteers who tirelessly serve in these areas — whether it’s distributing food parcels, offering prayer and encouragement, or simply being a friend to someone in need. Their selflessness is the heartbeat of Touch of Love.
