Touch of Love is the missions arm of Gates of Praise to the local and international communities. God works through your kind and generous gifts to take the good news of Jesus Christ to our local community and the world at large.
We are indeed grateful to the army of volunteers who are selfless in helping in every way possible either by distributing food parcels, providing shelter and meals for the homeless, supporting and praying for anyone with a need in the community.

In addition to our Community initiates which are Night Shelter for the Homeless, School Holiday Clubs, Food Run, and Community Emergency Response Outreach, we support other local and international charities especially in our areas of interest to fulfil our charitable objectives. These charities include – Tearfund, Little Have Hospice, Samaritan Purse UK, Kent Home, Sight Savers.

COVID-19 Support

COVID-19 & COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Gates of Praise (GOPIC)’s mission is reaching out to those who are in need of God’s love. We support those who are vulnerable in the community and may not be able to carry out their normal day to day activities like shopping for food and collecting prescriptions. We also donate food and toiletries to anyone in need of it due to different and temporary life circumstances.

Food Runs

FOOD RUN (GFR)

Gates of Praise having recognised the need to reach out to the needy in our community started a “Food Run” Project in 2003. This initiative will now work in partnership with Thurrock Food Bank (TFB) from August 2020. GFR and TFB share the same belief that no one in the Thurrock Community should have to face going hungry. TFB provide food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis whilst GFR in addition provides additional food support, distribution and other services to people who visit their centre.

Night Shelter

NIGHT SHELTER

Gates of Praise (GOPIC) provides supervised overnight accommodation and meals to homeless and vulnerable people who would otherwise be rough sleeping in the Borough of Thurrock during the coldest months of the year (October – March). We work in partnership with other local Churches, Thurrock Council and Community Centres across the Borough. In addition to essential shelter our staﬀ and trained volunteers provide welfare support.

Tearfund UK are Christians passionate about ending Poverty They follow Jesus where the need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people's potential and helping them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves. When disasters strike, they respond quickly and they won't stop until poverty stops.

Little Haven Hospice

LITTLE HAVENS HOSPICE

Little Havens is a hospice in Rayleigh, Essex who care for children and young people up to the age of 19 from Essex and the London surrounding boroughs who have been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition.They offer overnight respite breaks, emergency stays, symptom management and care at the end of a child’s life. They also provide support, ‘Day Stay’ sessions and the opportunity to attend specific groups and activities relevant to parents and their children’s needs.

Samaritan’s Purse UK

Samaritan’s Purse UK is an international relief and development organisation that works through local churches to proclaim and demonstrate the love of God amongst communities in need (in countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia) across the world.

Kent Home Ibadan Nigeria

KENT HOME

Together we can make a difference in the life of many! Kent Home is a care and transitional home for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC). Gates of Praise has been partnering with Kent Home Children Home in Ibadan, Nigeria for over 7 years. As a Church Organisation, we support the Children Home to make sure we cater for the Children and support them in every form possible.

Sight Savers

SIGHT SAVERS

Sight savers’ vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes, and where people with disabilities participate equally in society. They protect sight by providing eye operations for people who need them, and training eye care workers and surgeons to provide sight-saving treatment. Through community volunteers, they also distribute medication to protect people from blinding diseases in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Our aim is to see that everyone in our community will come to feel the love of God through our programmes, activities and outreach programs. We pray that we will all come to know Jesus and make Him known in all of our endeavour.
