WORD OF HIS POWER – PART 2

Revelation 12:10-11

The overcoming power of God is embedded in His word hence Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Jesus Christ performed many miracles by commanding healing and deliverance by the power of His word. The same opportunity has been given to every believer.

Matthew 8:8 – “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed”.

Matthew 8:16 – “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick”.

What is required of every believer is boldness of faith – this boldness is not because of being able to recite the word but having a total trust in the Lord that God is able to perform His word that we speak – Isaiah 55:11 | Mark 16:20.

Mathematically we can experience the demonstration of His power when we have the following operating simultaneously in our lives:

Total Trust in God (Proverbs 3:5-6) + Knowledge of His Word (John 14:26) = Boldness of Faith (Mark 11:22-23)

Boldness of Faith (Mark 11:22-23) + Declaring God’s word (Mark 16:20) = Divine Manifestations (Mark 11:24)

When it was time for Joshua to take over from Moses, God specifically told him to be strong and very courageous, to do according to the instructions passed down to him and this act of trust, faith and obedience will cause his ways to prosper – Joshua 1:7-8.

In this new dispensation, in addition to a life of holiness and righteousness, we must demonstrate our total trust in God by boldly declaring His word on every situation without a shadow of doubt. The promises are sealed by the provision made available in the leading verse – the Blood of Jesus Christ. Be rest assured that as you take these steps, you are being positioned to receive more than you can ask or pray for – Hebrews 12:24 | Ephesians 3:19-20.

Discussion:

  • One thing that was significant about the Lord Jesus Christ was people came out to hear Him and to be healed – Luke 5:15. List additional 5 things believers must do to follow Jesus Christ in this ministry.

– Preach the gospel – Isaiah 52:7. (What is the effect of our walk on the gospel?)
– Build yourself and others by the word you speak – Philippians 4:8 (What effect does this have on our testimonies?)

  • The Bible says that doubt is “an eliminator or a minus”- James 1:5-8, what are the practical steps we must take to build our faith? Romans 10:17 | Colossians 2:6-7 | Jude 1:20

  • 1 Corinthians 2:2-5 | Hebrews 12:1-2 – These two verses talk about keeping the focus on the Lord Jesus. What does it mean to lay aside every weight and sin? Where is the place of accountability in our faith or ministry?
